MadTracker.org has published Release Candidate 6 of MadTracker 2.5. This version offers a couple of major improvements with respect to previous versions. First of all, MadTracker now has accurate BPM and improved ReWire support for error-free synchronization with ReWire hosts. Second, MIDI import and export has been added to MadTracker's capabilities. Third, dozens of big and small bugs have been fixed for improved stability, performance and usability.
Do keep in mind that this is a Release Candidate, and not the final release. Problems can still occur. If they do, then please notify us about them!
Via our friend site united-trackers I've read about this open source project to create a buzz-alike tracker, similar to Jeskola's Buzz.
As I can see, the development stage of the software is pre-alpha, and althught I can't read the posted initial design (don't have openoffice installed at the moment :P), I guess the only developer is still analysing the problems and thinking about the initial objects structure, so it can be a good opportunity to help from the beginning of the project.
There's also a vc7 project, with the initial structure and a couple of .sln with some code of sound and machines managing.
If you know C# coding under win32 platforms, and wanna contribute with this GPL project.. visit the title's link :)
